Well here we are, another month has past and what a month it has been! Summer is here according to the calendar. We had the second summer campout at Twin Rivers CG in Bath NH. It was a little wet and somewhat cool at times, but overall it was a great time. For the Thursday early birds we went to, and enjoyed, a bit of Chinese type food. The best part was, after we arrive at the restaurant we discovered, and much to Rogers’s great happiness, that the The Second GCM’S Campout restaurant’s special for that night was Roger’s favorite Roasted Rice Balls with finger licking foo man choo hollandaise chocolate sauce. (Just kidding Roger). Friday brought in a little rain mixed with sunshine, which was pretty much the way the entire weekend went. It also brought in the rest of the mountaineers who were camping for the weekend. Friday night we played a few games of bean bag toss, then had a fire with much chattering. Betty and Bruce brought chocolate marshmallows and people roasted them over the open fire. Then Sandy and Arvilla treated everyone to popcorn roasted over an open fire with their own iron popcorn cooker and it was very delicious. Saturday brought in good weather for the meeting, and potluck breakfast was wonderful. In the afternoon eight of us played mini-golf with Alice keeping the score for us. Bruce and Betty went to a blue grass festival in Woodsville Saturday night. We had potluck supper with a lot of wonderful food. Roger and Ruth had some very nice and wonderful friends from Canada join us. We then had another fire with more chocolate marshmallows and a quick game of Pass the Ace, which was won by Tess. After it got dark we called it a night. Sunday brought Fathers Day and a pancake breakfast cooked by the ladies. Thank you ladies very much!!!!
